McDonald's visit

5th July 2017

Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning met with McDonald’s franchise owner Alan Butchers and local police to see for himself the recent re-imaging of the restaurant in Apsley and to learn about the restaurant group’s community work and support for Hemel Storm basketball club.

The McDonald’s franchise has been re-imaging their brand across Europe with a focus on design innovation and addressing the environmental impact.

The Apsley restaurant has undergone a 4-week re-image programme with a new cooking concept in the restaurant, new interior refurb to the customer areas and a dual lane Drive Thru to help capacity.

Mike Penning said:

“The new-look McDonald’s in Apsley is great and I welcome Alan Butchers and his McDonald’s team’s support of the local community. I’m particularly pleased about the Hemel Storm sponsorship.”

Alan Butchers added:

“This represents a considerable reinvestment in the business and will help provide more job opportunities. We have great support from the local community and local police officers Rachel and Jake are very supportive. This is a great area and we are very proud to be part of it.”
